Find an objective metric. Subjectively, men receive tons of appearance judgment, from movies down to dating: men date Down, women date Up.

My point is that you or I being ridiculed about our appearance only shows that it happens; it says nothing of how often, to what degree, etc

No. No-one claims their personal experiences are representative of society as a whole.

However, if you read evo psych, you'll discover women are evaluated on appearance & men on status & resources.

Jonathan Gottschall has a good book on it called 'The Beauty Myth' & there is a lot of general research.

By being aware of this, we can mitigate it better. Therefore, it is worthwhile discussing it.

I agree. I've seen M & W both judged constantly on appearance. I found the Gottschall article, I'll take a look.

I would suggest that not everything has to be equivocated. We can admit that men & women often experience different societal pressures.
