You should clarify what you mean by 'reason.' Augustine was no fideist. He wouldn't have written #CivDei et alia w/ its plethora of argmts.
Honestly, its fine. Its not my thesis, The conflict between faith & reason in the Christian tradition is well known.

You don't seem to know it if you think you can paint the majority of medieval thought as Tertullian. Logic and reason was highly prized.
