The Harris view assumes certain basic values to start with. You can reasonably extrapolate from the assumed values.
They do have to state their premises tho otherwise you'd never get started at all. 'Humans exist & have consistent needs' is a good one

The most interesting thing to me is the extension of circle of concern.

Seems to be a privilege of security. Out of a stage of existential focus & into one where we can relax a bit & afford to be empathetic.

I take a developmental capital approach - material, social and cognitive resources allow broader concern.
