If you are offended, maybe you need to self reflect. We often get most upset or angry by what touches a nerve inside of ourselves.
I mean, if someone feels hurt by a racist statement, it doesn't mean they need to go and reflect on what they don't like about their race.

I agree, it is possible. In this case, if you are triggered by me not calling you a racists but feel I am, it's likely something inside you.

I said 45 is a racist. If that triggers you, it is not likely it is me causing you to be triggered. But you are correct, not only option.

It doesn't match their narrative and so they object to the claim itself. In the same way, you might feel its wrong to call Xtian God evil.

But it could be a personal feeling that the claim is wrong. Sometimes people are hurt by accusations they think are false & unfair.

I don't think those claims are false & unfair but that doesn't mean people who do think they are know deep down that they're true.
