I can personally agree with that. Yet, when the theory leads to testable hypothesis it would be unwise reject it for that.

No, they're not. But we can still know adaptation happens because of the evidence that's how evolution works.

We just can't say with certainty what specific traits are adaptive. If they help survival & procreation directly, good chance they are.

We can't be sure men attracted to youth & beauty coz it indicated fertility & women to status & resources coz helped their offspring survive

We can only know they are by testing & finding this in so many contexts & panculturally that can be confident it part of human psychology.
