There's still a belief at its core. A religion doesn't necessarily require a god or gods. Your last point can be applied to xtians etc too

Lack of belief. Absence of belief is not a belief system. I don't believe in Unicorns, that's not a belief system in the slightest.

Books are written, seminars are held to dispel the idea of a Xtian/Muslim God. I don't see that happening for unicorns and fairies.

No, atheists disbelieve in the existence of an entity there is no proof of. Lack of belief is not a belief.
