Not if you look at the evidence. Most people who disbelieve in god don't care enough to talk about it either.https://twitter.com/Frankjl1980/status/905721854513512448 …

My friend thought religion was fairly benign until she joined the campaign for the right-to-die with dignity & found who is blocking it.

It was just one of those curious things that happened for me, had no impact on whether i believed in supernatural stuff. It just was there.
-
I took it all very seriously. If true, it mattered hugely. An eternity in heaven or hell. Made me ill.
-
Were your parents religious? Mine only nominally so, we never did church, but was christened etc. I was so uneducated I asked what the cross
-
No. They were atheists. I got myself baptised & confirmed & drove them nuts begging them to believe & not go to hell.
-
I was diagnosed with religious OCD and hospitalised 7 times before I managed to fully stop believing & so fearing. Fine ever since.
-
ah that does explain it, interesting how OCD can hook onto anything if the mindset is waiting for it
-
Yes! It tried to pop up in other forms but I could overcome it. Worst case scenario, I die. But hell is not a tolerable worst case scenario

If anything, it probably pushed me to become an atheist. I remember being pulled out of assembly and told off for not praying.
-
Different personality types. It worried me. I thought about Hell & my parents going there. Got myself baptised. Made myself ill over it.
-
Awful. For the record, I'm totally opposed to compulsory worship. In fact, I think religion should be entirely kept to Religious Studies.
