Words have meanings. Atheism: I don't believe there is a god. Agnostic: I doubt there is a god. Both can change with evidence.

No. Atheism describes a lack of belief and agnosticism a lack of knowledge. Therefore most atheists are agnostic atheists coz no-one knows.
-
I don't believe = lack of belief. I doubt= to be uncertain about.
-
But knowledge & certainty are not the same thing. We can be very certain of things that aren't true. Agnosticism doesn't imply doubt.
-
Philosophically, agnosticism means thinking the existence of God is unknowable. Agnostics may have personal beliefs either way.
-
In common parlance, agnostic is used to mean 'I'm undecided on the issue' & then philosophical agnostics jump on them.
-
And this is why I am sick of discussing the terms. Just say what you mean. Me: I cannot know God does not exist but I don't believe it does.

I wasn't trying to start an argument, honest guv. I just wanted to know what you thought. Maybe I phrased my tweet badly
-
Nooo! I didn't mean you shouldn't have asked this question. Sorry! I just used the opportunity to say I'm sick of squabbles about it.
