1) All else being equal, yes. 2) Not if you define religion in the normal way as a system of beliefs usually involving a supernatural force.

Most don't even care about my religion. My atheist parents are positive about it. My husband is indifferent.

No, that was not my point. Religion in my view is not the real problem - the notion that one's ideology is better than the other is.

We can argue for different ideologies, surely! Different views of the world? Muslims don't have to say Christianity is equally true?!

I can prefer liberalism to conservatism? Humanism to religion?

We progress in liberal democracies by protecting the right to hold & express a variety of ideas. We don't have to hold them all equal.
