1) All else being equal, yes. 2) Not if you define religion in the normal way as a system of beliefs usually involving a supernatural force.

Alas, all things are not equal. A religion doesn't necessarily need to have a superstitious force at the core of its principles.

I can define religion in so many ways. My issue isn't with atheism but the pursuit of atheists to disparage the major religions.

Nah. Atheists don't share the same values. Some favour science & rationalism. Biggest movement is anti-science SocJus version.

And most atheists don't do movements. We can be conservative, liberal, radical, pro-religion, anti-religion, mystical, sceptical etc.
