I find the opposite. I have a unique neurological condition. No-one else has it. I tell ppl how it makes me feel. They empathise easily.

Yes, but it is axiomatic to identity politics that individuals can do little more than act/think in terms of group self-interest.

It's an extremely morbid perspective, and completely excludes any possibility of reconciliation and common interests.

And fatal for any sort of left politics, because (say) it maintains that there is no possibility of overcoming racial antagonism.
