FFS. My point was not about empathy anyway but it's alarming how many people think empathy cannot occur across identity groups.

Surely the fact that we find psychopathic lack of empathy unnerving is a sign that, to some degree, the rest of us see empathy as important

And to suddenly force empathy to be ideological rather than universal might make disadvantaged groups worse off than before

We tend to look for differences in people (probably a survival instinct) while ignoring the vastly greater similarities we share.

When we 1st travel we see all the differences: clothes, food, language.. But later we come to see all the similarities: love, family etc
