OK, for you hijab is not to do with modesty. This is the common understanding of it tho. Still not part of the uniform.

It would be reasonable for schools to make exceptions for good reasons to be wearing scarves in school. Cancer treatment. Very cold weather.

I don't value religious views. I do defend religious freedom. This doesn't include making schools accommodate dodgy religious garb.

It's about valuing the right for religious views to be expressed. That's worth defending regardless of whether the actual view is valued.

Yep, people can even say that is their belief. They can't incite it or do it & hopefully police would keep an eye on them.

But they can slowly make government legislation in their views... which is kinda what we're seeing now, no. They can&do implicitly invoke.

That is the problem, yes. Not speech. Actions that oppress and harm people either legally or illegally.
