Dear @thetimes @SianGriffiths6
Why's the hijab being sexualised?
Yet it's ok for the same 5 year olds to have sex education lessions?

Well it comes down to why they're wearing it for it to be classed as a modesty code. I assure you its not for modesty reasons
OK, for you hijab is not to do with modesty. This is the common understanding of it tho. Still not part of the uniform.
It would be reasonable for schools to make exceptions for good reasons to be wearing scarves in school. Cancer treatment. Very cold weather.
But 'because my religion says so (even if I've interpreted this as having nothing to do with modesty)' is not a good reason.
If you do not value someones religious views then thats totally upto you and your idea of democracy
I don't value religious views. I do defend religious freedom. This doesn't include making schools accommodate dodgy religious garb.
If you defended religious freedom, you wouldn't say you don't value religious views. Because you can't defend something you don't value!
The media varies hugely from anti-Muslim bigotry to fawning Islamophilia.Occasionally it holds Muslim Brits to same standards as every1 else
