No. I do not think anyone needs to know the biology of trans identity to take a liberal view of trans rights. Just let ppl do their thing.

The biology of gender identity is actually very interesting to me but it's not what should underlie our support for trans rights.

In the same way, we don't need to prove that homosexuality is not a choice to see that it's ethically neutral & needs no justification.

It matters in practical terms, yes. To a certain extent but even then it gets complicated coz trans people exist.

It's a perceptual one that relates to real life. People go on what they see & so it comes down in the end to whether trans woman 'passes.'
