I wish I were a more orderly writer. It wld be so much more efficient. So many people just plan out what they're going to say & then say it.

Yeah but the problem with that is that the ideas that come up are better. I've changed direction of argument midway before coz warranted.

1/You seem to think others produce "better in the end" writing without inefficiently ideating. But they (likely) also use a meander tactic..

I know they do coz I read their plans and drafts! It's infuriating. But there are also ppl who meander worse & never get fully straight.

My point is the "inefficiency" is usually still there just invisible. (I manage a variety of writers, fyi)...the "messy" ones aren't worse..

but tend to look more productive and less, well, *still*. Type a writes first then erases more. Type B thinks a lot but appears ponderous.
