I've had men make assumptions about me because of my gender but never that I can't be intelligent. Is this really a common stereotype?

I mean, most of us go to mixed schools. Wouldn't it be hard to get through that with a misconception of gendered intelligence difference?

In my school years I've never witnessed boys assuming women couldn't be intelligent. Prejudice occurred only related to sport.

American stereotypes on this are strongest in TX, I believe, where football is a religion that boys play in and girls cheerlead for.

I don't think she's talking about your personality specifically, but rather stereotypes in general. I know I do it, and I know I'm wrong.

If this were true, then "femsplaining" would have been a commonly used term long before mansplaining ever became a part of our lexicon.
