The CEO didn't accuse him of being racist. He said he failed to abide by the Code of Conduct -- a sacking offence.

I didn’t see anything in his behaviour that breached the code of conduct and the CEO failed to mention which part of the memo did so.

The bit I've just cited is a clear breach.

Just questioning the efficacy of affirmative action is a clear breach of the code of conduct? It is a sackable offence merely to discuss it?

I don't think the guy was doing his utmost to create a workplace culture that is free of bias -- that's what the Code calls for.

I think he *was* trying to improve the workplace culture. I disagree with his view but disagreeing with the boss shouldn’t get you sacked.

Depends how you do it. A private memo saying "I think you're doing it wrong boss" shouldn't get him fired. That's not the route he took.

Why private when other people are criticising Google on diversity in forums?

Within the company you mean? Any company allows some criticism, that's healthy. Did anyone go as far as Damore?

I don't see why 'Biological differences exist but huge overlap exists & people should be treated as individuals' is far whilst 1/2

      Replying to @HPluckrose @Donoghue_K and

'No biological differences exist & imbalance is discrimination & courses on microaggressions & bias are great' is perfectly reasonable.
