And I question your framing that he is different than most human rights activists on the left, given that they are not relativists.
-
I hope you're right but I fear you're not. I'm not sure how we'd measure.
-
I mean, if you're concerned surely you have some relativists you could point me towards? Cause otherwise why frame it this way?
-
Acqueiscence is marked by the absence of protest. Why haven't all d other human rights activists come forward to support ex-muslims in dis?
-
Have you checked that they provided no support? Sounds like the March happened so unless some further issue is made what needs doing?
-
There'll be another march next year.
-
Sounds like a lot of hand waving at vague threat. Relativists were bad but they mostly been replaced by moral realists and constructivists.
-
I don't agree. I think ur best sources on difficulty of criticising Islamism due to regressive leftist pushback are reformers & ex-Muslims

Cultural relativists are urging them not to allow this coz upsetting to a minority group. Peter is one of the ones advocating consistency.
-
Relativism states that morality is defined by each culture. They can't call out Christian homophobia any more than Muslim homophobia.
-
Not coherently, no! I say that at the end of my piece.
-
So stop calling them relativists and just call them hypocrites. Unless they're actively defending relativism in which case point me to them.
-
They are being relative whether they think so or not. When they say 'It;s OK for ppl of Xtian culture to crit relig but not ppl of Muslim'
