It's so easy not to say 'Men do X' 'Women think X' 'Muslims believe Z' if you don't mean to suggest its a problem related to the group.

I don't think the majority of men approach women with ill-intent. I'm sure most of them have approached a woman who is not interested.

Ill intent is slightly subjective here. I think they don't understand how fucking annoying it is and sometimes threatening it can be.

They can't know if the woman will be interested or not, no. All they can do is try & be polite & non-threatening.

I also think not approaching people wearing headphones should be standard etiquette. Don't think that's gendered tho.

If you mean both men and women shouldn't do that I agree. I don't think many men r being approached by women if that's what you're hinting.
