And there it is. #NotAllMen
-
-
Crime statistics back this up. Not headphone listening, but crimes against women after they've rejected men (who say they just want a convo)
-
Yes, arseholes exist.
-
No, you mean murderers and rapists. The assault rates more than warrant this generalization because it's backed up by facts.
-
Generalizations like this are the basis for racist/sexist beliefs and behavior.
-
I didn't realize wymn prioritizing their safety was sexist. The bias here is ignoring unwanted advances.
-
You can prioritize your safety without generalising men as violent rapists. That won't help in any way.
-
And that includes advising someone against approaching someone w/ headphones in. Regardless of gender.
-
Yes, I just did that.

How does the reasoning change? How do the ethics? We can say
#NotAllMuslims abt British Muslims but not Pakistani ones? They're fair game? -
they can still buy houses in any neighborhood, people will still respect them, can you even think of a slur used against men?
-
Tweet unavailable
-
LOL these arent slurs because theyre not exclusive to men, slurs are exclusive to a specific group. people throw these words at women aswell
-
Helen why r u out here caping for men
-
Read the thread? Or this: https://www.allthink.com/1998510 I'd hope we'd all counter bigoted generalisations about any group.

if the groups is powerful and the generalizations are true, yes it is okay to make generalizations about them. Men can still get jobs
-
Do they become true then or does that not matter? Does it help in some way to combat the problem?
-
yes it does lol. the first part in addressing a problem is identifying the cause and source
