I was going to say 'no' to being a woman in a male dominated field but very many people tell me that scepticism & rationalism is one.

-
I'm not convinced of this myself. Do seem to be more men talking abt & writing abt the problems with religion & postmodernism than women.
-
But does this make the subject/approach 'male-dominated' in any meaningful sense? Not sure it does. Anyway, it's been very welcoming of me.
-
How's philosophy in general in that regard?
-
I don't know.

Other studies refute his own. What is your point? Should I launch memos about politics or religion at work? Is that really ever smart?
-
This happened in a forum for discussing diversity issues. Very many other people had expressed views on it. None of them were fired.
-
By Damore's account, it was part of an internal 'skeptic' group that was then leaked, propagated across google.
-
Ah, so was the forum for critics of Google's approach to diversity rather than everyone who had an opinion on it?
-
full context still unclear (I think to anyone) but started as internal discussion. He talked a bit here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1186&v=SEDuVF7kiPU …

That doesn't make me a free speech victim if I get fired. It makes me a moron who doesn't understand what is appropriate to discuss at work
-
My mother was denied access to accountancy exams & was told 'there's no accounting for women.' Considered inappropriate to discuss at work.
-
If Damore said, "I would like access to these classes too," Google would have no grounds to fire him. That can't be conflated w entire memo
-
Oh, she wrote memos, manifestos, circulated leaflets & marched with banners. Was she a moron who deserved to be fired?
-
She? Yes. Any person with that sort of agenda should spare a corporate forum of it. I've worked at a corporation. Have you?

Hey, some people think Mary was raped by a centurion and gave birth to Jesus. Why don't I launch that on a corporate forum? GENIUS.
-
Can you point out to any data supporting your GENIUS "thought"?
-
It's not my job or role to educate you on gender theory.
