This is more or less the majority opinion of sex researchers from what I can see...https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/no-the-google-manifesto-isnt-sexist-or-anti-diversity-its-science/article35903359/ …

bc it creates a bad environment when u tell a gender that they can’t do things well at a place where they get paid to do those exact things.
-
And it doesn't say that. Stop pretending it does so it's easier to attack it. Fewer women like STEM. Obv the ones in it do.
-
if we don’t try to make things more diverse at work, they won’t get that way. workplace diversity is hard, but it’s worth it.
-
Why? Why can't we do what we want? Why do women have to want to do what men want to do in the same numbers?pic.twitter.com/GnozsGrCeO

because i can tell you that having as many perspectives represented as possible makes for a more inspiring environment and a better business
-
I agree. That's why it was great when someone brought a biological perspective into the conversation. He got fired. Back to one perspective.
-
How can you expect to have multiple perspective if you condone & encourage the punishment of people who have different ones?
-
every workplace has a culture, and companies need to make (sometimes difficult) decisions on how they support it.

I have been trying to look at gender in a way that considers biology & culture for 8 yrs now & had to come out of academia to do it.
-
It's not ok to equate 'women' with 'science-denying gender-ideologues'. We are intellectually diverse & as likely to accept science as men.
-
all I'm saying is that u can replace “women” w/ “people with brown hair”, and it has the same affect on those people — demotivation.
-
Rubbish. We are not blank slates waiting to be told what to think & what we're interested in. Pls see short thread:https://twitter.com/hpluckrose/status/894926371188867072 …

i can only speak from my experience in running a company, and what you want to happen vs what does is often very different.
-
Maybe you can't make what you want to happen, happen. If you didn't focus solely on culture & ignore nature, you'd understand why.

"feel threatened" is the wrong argument; distributing that opinion at work was simply stupid and unprofessional...grounds enough for firing.
