They fired him for it! How does it not silence the expression of ideas if you know having the wrong ones loses you your job.https://twitter.com/BrittanySomeone/status/894985806657462272 …
He contributed it in a post in a group he was part of which was specifically set up to share thoughts on diversity at google.

What I don't see is how that equates to job performance since the subject itself is largely subjective. (Ken's 1st response)
-
If he did it at his workplace whilst being paid by his employers...
-
But the other people who contributed to the group have not been fired. The group was legitimate. People encouraged to contribute.
-
That's why I said, this case is nuanced. Google (according to what I read) encouraged a culture of speaking out and criticizing management.
-
I don't think it's that nuanced. He posted in an appropriate place and was fired coz they didn't like his ideas which were pro-equality.
-
Did he do this on his own time, or on his employer's dime?
-
I don't know but there is no suggestion he was fired for doing so whilst the others contributed in their own time. Not what they've said.
-
In the end there will probably be a lawsuit & maybe settlement. They can fire him for whatever reason or no reason. This is just a gross one
