      I'll have to think about what you said but my initial reading of his paper did not lead me to believe this was a silencing freedom of speech

          No-one is trying to say private companies have the obligation to support free speech, just talking about the ethics generally.

          I agree on the ethics of the situation, but so many screaming free speech and illegal conflate the issues, and clarification is necessary.

          At most it just shows the truly divisive culture that Google runs, but this is a slippery slope in shouting Freedom of Speech.

          Actually, unlike Facebook or Ebay which have near unsurmountable network effect advantages, Google is vulnerable.

          It takes a fair amount of disgruntlement for people to change their habits, but google users don't need to coordinate to move elsewhere.
