I find application of term Natural Law to alleged moral certitudes as rather presumptuous... universe doesn't care how we govern ourselves.

@JetzCrzy84
@M_Methuselah People still talk about "inherent" rights? As in the concept _invented_ by humans? -
Yes and a concept that has been discussed and believed by some of the smartest men in history. Locke, Aristotle, Cicero@just to name a few
-
Are you going to argue that 'rights' exist in nature or something?
-
In a world without government, do u not have the right to do as u please? Do I not have free will?
-
Again, 'rights' is a concept invented by humans. They don't just come with being born, like blond hair or something.
-
Right that we have that are not dependent on laws, customs, government etc
-
By that def, every living thing has a 'right' to do whatever. Not sure it's that meaningful
-
We clearly have a difference of opinion here. Which is fine u have the freedom to believe what u want

Founders didn't think that government could regulate speech considering it was something that existed before the formation of government

It is more encompassed in the free will principal. Founders didn't even think it wa a necessary to protect speech. Didn't see BoR as needed
