What Nurses do and what Doctors do is pretty similar. What's the difference, other then pay or skill? Men like being Drs.

Women go more for GP roles coz spend more time talking to people. More men found dealing with the things of the body - hearts, brains.
-
though I think article wrong re stress. Most trad "female" jobs interacting with people- nurse, social work, secretary, etc quite stressful!

Men are discouraged from seeking nursing positions because of social stigmas Isn't the whole point of this to allow individuals real choice?
-
To simplify it, when we fight for people's rights what we should be fighting 5 individual's right to choose and prove that they're qualified
-
Every time one of these conversations comes up it boggles my mind. Haven't we learned yet that the individual dictates their own story?

That the reason we celebrate the exceptional is because they are indeed exceptional?

So even if overall one group might be better at something else that doesn't mean a shift can't occur or individuals can't challenge that

The memo was inappropriate. Nobody asked for his opinion. And if he had an issue he should have taken it up in a private meeting w higherups

Why does one need to be asked to give an opinion?

I have heard it's very rare for adults outside of union companies to be allowed to make statement like this without backlash

On average, most folks are just afraid that by quantifying these societal trends, we're giving people ammunition with which to discriminate.
-
It's not true, of course. Understanding the differences in why men and women think the way they do HELPS in the fight against discrimination

I'm a male travel nurse. I have worked in dozens of hospitals, my coworkers are overwhelmingly female.
-
There is nothing stopping males from becoming nurses, but they rarely do.
