        Where are people even saying it's a free speech issue? The issue is that an ideological echo chamber silencing people for wrongthink is bad.

        That is what free speech defense is essentially about. Opposing punishment for the expression of ideas we don't like.

        In the strictly legal sense it's not a free speech issue. That refers the the 1st Amendment, which only applies to state actors.

        Free speech is a principle. Some countries enshrine it in law in some contexts and some don't.

        America has it's first amendment, yes, but this is almost never what I'm talking abt when I say free speech & not only coz I'm not American.

        Free speech does mean something very specific in the US. It would be best to come up with another less confusing term.

        The claim was not "less interested," but rather biologically less capable - a strong claim that he did not support adequately with evidence.

        Biologically, the main difference is interest. Difference in capacities on average also exist. He did mention both.

        Agreed, but the jump from that fact to an explanation for the gender demographics of coders is vast and ignores cultural/social factors.
