Is this coz tech is seen as inherently superior or because men are seen as more capable of resisting social pressure & doing what they want?
Sure. If feminists claim not to be working for benefit of women or MRAs claim its not men's issues they address, we can think them confused

Do they often do that tho? Call themselves feminists and then claim to be supporting a different cause to women's issues?
-
I don't see a problem in having self-interested movements. The campaign for equal marriage didn't need to focus on anything else to be good.
-
Ex-Muslim critics of Islam don't need to focus on any other social problems no matter how much ppl say 'What about Christianity?'
-
The problem with feminism isn't that it focuses on making gains for women. It's that it does so insanely & to the detriment of men (& women)
-
I may have misunderstood but you seemed to be suggesting seeking access to high-prestige tech jobs was a problem in itself - it was selfish.
