Evo-psych is an interesting field, but I remain resistant to hardline genetic determinism.

Well, if anyone thinks genes determine genres of comedy, they're demonstrably wrong. Those sketches would always have existed then.

I was using that as a somewhat tongue in cheek example to show that there are limits to what you can explain with genes.

But I would still allow that the Spam sketch is *consistent* with human behaviour, and that much of that behavior is inherited.

I couldn't write it. I don't have that kind of mind. I inherited my father's sense of humour but apply it to different things.
