Yes. There are two issues here. Was memo-writer right abt gender differences on average? Shld he be able to express those views unpunished?

There is a misogynistic assumption underlying the idea that gender difference = female inferiority. Also one that devalues the social.

But even if it weren't true that brilliant women have a wider range of abilities & are more likely to oft for jobs involving verbal skills

no-one should be punished or vilified for thinking so & saying so. Liberal society accepts people's right to have & express different ideas.

The right to express such views does not rely on them being correct or on them being in accordance with approved views on gender.

If we were to ban people from saying things that are not factually correct, religious freedom would suffer most.

Where people have been banned from expressing unorthodox views on gender, this has mostly impacted trans people & women seeking equality.

This 'How dare he think he has the right to express such views to his peers' is deeply alarming. Its more alarming this is not clear to all.
