Do you have legislated full equality in the UK? In the US we certainly don't.

Almost. Men still lack a few rights women have & there's a couple of injustices re gay men & blood donation & trans spouses consent needed.

The question is how attitudes/values changes. I still don't see any evidence that rational discourse was a primary cause.

Look around the world. What countries have the highest standards of living, and greatest freedom and equality? What do most have in common?

They all were very successful at subjugating and exploiting other peoples around the world.

They continue to profit from that exploitation, judging themselves superior to those they exploited & marginalizing some of their own folks.
