If they want to actually connect with the majority of moderate Muslims, the fixation on attacking Islam is alienating.

Unfortunately, that's not how beliefs work. There are teams of research showing that "overwhelming evidence" isn't what changes beliefs.

It's not about a particular group of people not being reasonable. This is a human phenomenon, not a Muslim one.
