It seems particularly odd to me when conservative academics & intellectuals say 'If women aren't going to have children, what will they do?'

These are people you'd expect to be well aware of how much there is to read & learn & think about how little time one life offers to do it.

I know many ppl who feel bored if they're not constantly kept busy with mundane jobs but none of them are interested in knowledge & ideas.

I usually find ppl who say women can't be fulfilled without full focus on children don't have a lot of intellectual curiosity themselves.

But when they're men who clearly do, its hard to come to any conclusion than that they don't realise women do too. Fortunately, they're few.

And, by 'intellectual curiosity' I don't mean formal learning in an academic setting but just being interested in learning about things.

My two best friends are thoroughly enjoying having time to explore interesting things now their kids are teens & occupied with peers mostly.

I think the luckiest ppl are those who are happiest when reading & thinking & who live in circumstances which enable them to do this a lot.

The happiness of busyness-loving extroverts is always reliant on other people's cooperation & so is vulnerable.

This was brought home to me by caring for elderly ppl in their own home. Disabled, stuck-at-home extroverts can be very, very sad & lonely.

Introverts can still enjoy life very much. Used to settle one lady, Edie in her chair with books, TV remote, puzzles, snacks & radio.

And she would be so happy with her plan for a full day of solitary activities. Quick chat with me & then she'd want me to go. Be like Edie.

From personal exp few people in general r interested in knowledge and ideas for their own sake & seems to be particularly rare for females.
