Is saying an Italian should be judged according to Italian law culturally relativist?

I think it comes down to the difference between local laws and universal human rights, but I don't really understand what 'rights' are.
-
I don't know what you mean.
-
OK, well I'm sure some cultural relativists will say - well, that's just their laws. Who are we to tell them how to set their law?
-
And that is what I just addressed at length.
-
Yes, you do talk a lot about human rights in the piece.
-
I don't understand what you mean. I'm talking about holding one's own ethics consistently or inconsistently.
-
We generally hold that other nations are free to set their own laws without interference. And I imagine that cultural-relativists would
-
appeal to that sort of thinking - i.e. who are we to tell other people how to set their own rules?
