But that wasn't it. She was thinking abt what had been said but this meant she'd stopped looking at the speaker. Interpreted as boredom.

She had trouble making friends & I thought the best thing to do to show she was part of the conversation was to worry less abt what to say..

...and more about looking engaged - making encouraging, interested signals. That would make her seem less separate from everyone else.

I'd like to say this had a happy ending but it didn't. She still doesn't engage with ppl well &still has no friends despite being lovely. :(
