By extension do you support his students' right to call him "ma'am" without being sanctioned for being disrespectful?

Jordan answered this himself and said he didn't care. The move backfires.

So the only option we've got left is to watch him grow more and more bitter as the world changes for the better in ways he doesn't want? Ok.

Forcing people to say things is not a better world. The better world is one that has people say things willingly out of curtesy.

Expecting courtesy is not always forcing. The Queen might not eject a guest who repeatedly calls her "Liz". But would she invite them back?

Calling the queen Liz shouldn't get you a possible jail sentence. Refusal to call her queen shouldn't do it either.

I agree with you. But it's fine for that guest's employer to sack him for it if the event was work related.

It already is, unequally. How long would someone last at most jobs if they insisted on calling cisgendered men "her" all the time?

We can't know coz there isn't a system of thought which sees cis men as women. There are ones which see gender as biological or as identity.

I would oppose plans to make everyone say its biological or everyone say its identity.

Sure. Those are opinions about human nature. Interpersonal courtesy is different. Polite nonbelievers still call priests by their titles.

Sure. I don't have to tho if I believe (as I do) that this pastoral role is far from fatherly. Don't fire me for politely using another term
