She's my Labrador & she is missing her Labrador brother who died recently. She needs us to get another dog. She's never been alone downstairs

There is clinging to my leg and big imploring eyes. It would take a heart of stone not to respond to this appeal.

Sleep on the sofa. If you take her upstairs, you set a precedent. (I speak from experience.)

I'm not sure I'd mind this precedent! Dave works nights and it would be nice to have her with me. :)

So, I have a Labrador on my bed. Bad photo coz she's not getting the concept of her side & my side of the bed & is practically on top of mepic.twitter.com/fjsJVLg8k9

My dog is the same. But I'm really bad at this whole superior species concept. A seagull knocks on my window for food every morn & I oblige.
-
Personally, I usually sleep covered in animals. But I've had to learn the don't-be-covered-in-animals-at-all-times rule 4 dog/catsitting.
-
I had a cat but set boundaries by necessity - petting would result in a breakout of hives. Fortunately the dog doesn't provoke a reaction.

In that case, take her up!
