But even with stories and poetry I believe in clarity of communication. Sure there can and shd be ambiguity of meaning. But not befuddlement

Exactly. For some things clarity works. For others the lack of it allows them explore different territory other work isn't always able to.

Ambiguity and lack of clarity are not exactly the same. This has multiple meanings is diff from "I suspect there is no meaning behind this."
