I had a vivid dream that I absent-mindedly petrol-bombed a shop & was then horrified that it burnt down & that I didn't realise it would.

This is why PoMos who claim no-1 else realises that ideas have power are nuts. We've always realised that. Just varied on what to do abt it

Mostly its been banning the expression of certain ones and then it was bringing them all into the open & taking them apart.

I still go with the latter so its frustrating to keep being told this can only be because I don't realise how powerful ideas can be.

It's connected to my OCD, and my anxiety disorder, I find myself thinking about doing horrific things.

I had this too. I was afraid of pushing people down stairs and in front of trains and things. It just flickers in my mind now.

Have you read "Escape from Freedom" by Frohm, I think. His thesis is basically that fear of our own capacities lead some to fascism.

I've noticed this. I think a large part is played by our common inability to accept our own darker nature.

I find taking the time to understand and accept it makes it far easier to do the same with other people's darker natures.
