Yes. I expect it to be 70 by the time I retire (if I'm still alive)

I'm still a baby so I may have to wait until closer to 75! In any case, they should raise it. We live too long and it's unsustainable

We can affort it if we want to. It's a matter of choice (how much tax we are willing to pay)

Why should we? Why shouldn't people work longer? life Expectancy will be close to 85 by the time you're at retirement age. That's 17 years!

I'm not sure yng ppl should pay higher taxes to support older people's retirement when they had it easier to get on the property ladder etc

If they can still work. Same with so-called 'dementia tax' which only charges you for own care if you have own house.

Which does seem fairer than charging young people who are struggling to afford a house for their families and may never manage it.

Especially considering that it is the older generations who are voting in the Tories anyway.

I know I'm saying this as a young person and the effect will be significantly delayed for me but,

They should raise the age to 70 sooner rather than later, and increase age for private pension from 55 to 60/65.

The proper solution to that is to bring house prices back to normal levels (simply by increasing the offer).

Yah. House prices, in London esp, are reaching stage where close to point that it's unaffordable for vast majority of UK residents. However

There are still many areas north of the (M25) border where prices are still below pre-2008. So prices are still very affordable there.

Its ridiculous. We were in Woodford - just inside London & afforded a house by moving 3 miles (2 tube stops) down the road to outside it.

Difference between affording a 2 bedroom upstairs flat or a 3 bedroom house is 3 miles.

Makes more sense for me to *drop* retirement age, and *enforce* to create jobs for young people with families..... It's a fine balance.
