From experience I think it's more likely the latter, also maybe sexualised threats are just more upsetting than violent ones?
-
Not sure. But much of it isn't threats. Just sexual & violent language.
-
True, I've experienced a bit of violent & racist abuse and almost 0 sexually abusive language, the latter I imagine could be more upsetting.
-
The most upsetting/maddening msgs I get are character slurs (bigot/misogynist etc)...
-
so maybe abuse/ harassment based on sexuality maybe more hurtful than violent ones.
-
I have said 'maybe.' Like you, I find attacks on my character to be most hurtful. Sexual insults are easy to brush off.
-
Sorry for rambling. I was building up to ask you whether sexualised abuse was more akin to character slurs than violent language.
-
But you answered it preemptively.
