I'm not a big pomo, but it seems that many ideologues find moral relativism scary because it puts closely-held values into question.

I'll give a read; agreed completely. We tend to see our own values as paramount, so I've always been skeptical of moral objectivist claims

I must argue for universal liberalism & if an argument for a different approach is better for overall human wellbeing, I'll change my mind.

And I have an individualistic take & so often agree with different people on the left or the right on different things I consider 'liberal.'
