Maybe he's a consequentialist? If you're doing less than utmost for alt-right, you're morally equiv to guy who lets kids drown (per Singer).

Its natural to care more about people who are closer to home, emotionally. Intellectually, its quite possible to see all humans as valuable

Christianity has strong humanist elements, yes. The Christ figure promotes brotherhood & helping poor & sick. Bit too socialist for me tho.

I see no need to give everything we own to the poor but we should all help the less-fortunate if we can.
