frankly if you're happy to break a romantic relationship based on genitals you shouldn't be dating anyone

Trans people complicate this & suffer as a minority. I think the solution is not trying to change language but promoting liberal ethics.
-
but sex and gender ARE complicated. we shouldnt pretend to say theyre clear cut when we know theyre not
-
They're not. There is an overwhelming correlation between sex & gender. Better to support the outliers than try to blur the whole issue.
-
correlation =/= causation and it does bc people who didn't were killed for it and people nowadays face discrimination for it
-
Interesting theory. Seems unlikely it would be pan-cultural if so.
-
well hinduism has actually had 3 genders for a long time now
-
Not really. Just don't know what to make of gay men & call them a kind of not-really-woman thus denying their gender identity.
-
um no? not at all??

but what is a female physiology? do all females have that physiology?
-
Yes, if you define female as someone with a female physiology - ovaries, vagina, breasts, uterus, etc. As is overwhelmingly done.
-
thats the female sex, not the female gender
-
And my point is that this is overwhelmingly understood as what defines a woman.
-
but my point is its wrong and we should make an effort to stop using it
-
You can certainly. Other people don't have to. They just have to treat trans people with dignity & equality.
-
referring to them as their gender and treating like it would be a start, as a trans person to a cis person
