Its been a while since some1 tried to persuade me to try to reclaim feminism for gender equality rather than criticise it for not doing that

I made the argument for trying to fix feminism rather than abandoning it & letting the 3rd wavers have it for a long time.
-
But I think that ship has sailed & its time to accept that the concept has shifted. 80% of Brits support gender equality. 7% are feminists.
-
If we still lived in a society where women lacked equal rights, I'd persevere but I think the pursuit of gender equality is postfeminist now

Who is trying to persuade me?
@haltncatchf1re Who are truly liberal feminists? The gender egalitarians who still use label. eg@IonaItalia -
Many people still use 'feminist' to mean 'the aim for gender equality' either coz don't know what's going on or want to reclaim.
-
I did this for years & had a lot of allies tho many have given up now. Some haven't & they're the ones who still talk to me!
-
The problem is that feminism shouldn't die and people feel it too. When i feel i need to defend it I have no choice but relate to it. See..
-
Well, we'll have to differ there. I think its day is over & the aim for gender-equality must now come from both sides.
-
I don't get why - if it's truly about gender equality - it's so important to call it 'feminism'...
-
Globally, women face far more disadvantages than men, esp in Muslim-majority countries & in India (where I'm abt to live). So 4 me still apt
