If reach isn't the reason, or wasn't suggested. What is meant by the phrase "He's not big"?

It was given as the reason for not needing to mute.

Given as the reason for not needing to mute. Because he isn't big. But this isn't about reach? What other way is that phrase meant? Height?

Big can certainly mean reach & it might do here. I'm not a mind-reader. I'm pointing out its given as a reason for not needing to mute.

Not as a reason for not talking to someone. We know James has talked to many small podcasts.

However, as a side point, whether or not someone is a significant influence depends on who they are influencing & whether you respect them.

Some big names among MRAs & alt-right have attacked me. I don't care coz they have zero influence among people whose thinking I respect.

But if someone influential within liberal/sceptical circles would be way more worth answering. Coz they are a much bigger deal.

Also, there's big & there's big. Eli isn't that well known. I didn't know him. Fewer ppl know me but that's no measure of what is big!

So based off this tweet alone, would you ignore Eli responding to you asking for conversation because he isn't big in your eyes?

I wouldn't talk to Eli because of the way he has conversations. I'd not get bothered enough about him to mute him coz he doesn't matter.
