I do not see any proof that children are actually better off, now that Mothers have left the home in mass.

1) Women have always worked. 2) They haven't left the home en masse. They just go to work. 3) Evidence kids are better off if they don't?

It seems very likely the best parents are the attentive ones who give their kids the love & support & guidance they need

Perhaps in some cases that's helicopter parenting if kids have a disability or psych problem but more benefit from some independence.

Did you want to be with your mother all the time? I didn't. I wanted a full life with variety & also some time to myself.

I don't ppl realise what a burden it can be for kids if their mother makes them her world. Especially if they've been at school at day.

My mother didn't go back to work until I was 12 & it was a relief. She had something else in her life. Wasn't all my responsibility.

Mothers dont lose their personal identities Just because they start a family. Scientists with a family bring valuable insights to their work

I agree completely. I'm talking about people who think motherhood should be the entirety of an identity. I advocate doing both.

My son's pediatrician STRONGLY encouraged me to keep non-parental roles and activities at a healthy, active level. She's a mom& GREAT Dr.

She's sensible! Whilst some people might be workaholics & others might be ...homeaholics (?) I think most people fulfilled by bit of both.

Balance. Some moms are rejuvenated by parenting - and I'm genuinely happy for them. Some need some breaks in their day and that's fine too
