I'm going to be direct here, and say; What an absolute twat. This is a very important part of the job. Can you deal with aggression?

Can you deal with mood swings? Can you deal with panic? Can you stay professional doing this job? It is essential.

I've been in countless situations where I was yelled at, intimidated, cursed etc. My job was to de-escalate. To stay calm, warn them etc.

I think it would be more upsetting if its a person with mental health issues. Much easier not to take it personally when it's brain damage.

Because its not really them. I realise ppl with psychological problems would also be different w/out them but somehow feels more personal?

eg 1 man would call me 'bitch' & 'cunt' &swing at me & his wife said 'This isn't him. He once punched a man for swearing in front of a lady'

Whilst I don't agree with that, it made it very clear that the person I was dealing with was not the person he really was & I had sympathy.

I want to email him myself really so I can say that I'm not trying to take over & he's been doing brilliantly but I speak this language.
