I think I need to finish my thing on productive & unproductive ways to approach the problems on the extreme Left from a liberal perspective.
-
-
And critical reflection on whether what you are doing is likely to achieve that (assuming arrogantly that anyone is listening at all)
-
Therefore, its important that liberal lefties criticise illiberal leftism from consistently liberal lefty principles not right-wing ones.
-
Which is not to say that we should not be listening to liberal or moderate conservatives or acknowledging when they have a good point.
-
The centre-right & centre-left can provide balance & insight to each other & can ally most productively against the extremists on both sides
-
But we can only fix liberal leftism by doing liberal leftism & addressing the parts of the left which just aren't that.
-
If you think the liberal left is best abandoned, do that, but if you retain its principles, make sure they are at the centre of your critique
-
A parallel is in Islam. Ex-Muslims abandoned this set of ideas finding them unworthy on a root level whilst reformers try to fix the problem

I question the sincerity of those criticising their team if they consistently fail to recognize the bad behavior on the other side.
-
Clean up your house instead of bitching about your neighbors. You got legit problems, stupid to defend them.
-
But those aren't the options, are they? Instead?
-
Attack the right for being bad for America, they are, as soon as the left isn't worse.
-
The left is mostly bad coz its caused people to go right & now you have Trump, ethnonationalism, populism & religious lunacy on the rise.
-
They also attack free speech, promote political violence, lie in the media, social Marxism, SJW Puritanism...
-
And the right don't? Is it at all possible you are a little biased here?
-
Right now most anti free speech is on the left, "punch a Nazi", social Marxism, and SJWs...
